Context

I will begin my journey with brainstorming initial thoughts of what theme of choice i could pursue for this assignment and what would look presentable and new when such designs are translated onto a very popular shoe rang of Vans. This careful choice of theme came to ‘Emo vs Vans’.

I shall then start my research based on this theme i have chosen, incorporating deep research on Vans as a company, how they started etc. This section is a major priority as it gives me somewhere to go off when designing my very own Vans shoes. I will also be expected to do some basic research on what style is trending for emo’s at this point in time, music, fashion etc. This information will then be considered may potentially drive me into the correct path for designing the perfect ‘Emo Vs Vans’ styled shoes, appropriate for my chosen audience of emo’s.

Colours, patterns and styles of Vans shoes will be experimented with both on the Vans customise website, and on Adobe Photoshop using my knowledge gathered from research. I feel this project is well suited to me as i am obsessed with skater styles and vans shoes in general.
